I've lived this city all my life
나는 평생을 이 도시에서 살았다.

보통 기간을 나타낼 때는 for를 사용해야 하나 all에는 이미 for가 포함되어 있어서 for를 같이 쓰지 않습니다.
즉 for all my life라고 쓰면 틀린 표현입니다.

아래와 같은 표현들을 같이 사용할 수 있습니다.

all day
all (the) morning
all my vacation

I have been doing vs. I have done

I have been doing은 행동에 관심을 두고 하는 얘기이고,
I have done은 종료된 것에 관심을 두고 하는 얘기 입니다.

따라서 행동이 아니고 상태 동사인 know, like, believe, mean은 Present perfect continuous시제로 사용하지 않습니다. 물론 약간의 예외는 있습니다.

I've been knowing Jessica for a long time.이라고 쓰지는 않습니다.
I've known Jessica for a long time이라고 해야 맞습니다.

예문)
 Present perfect continuous Present perfect simple 
 How long have been reading this novel.
  How many novels have you read?

Collocations는 강조의 표현을 하기 위해서 같이 쓰는 단어들로써 이유는 없지만 누구나가 그렇게 쓰는 표현들입니다. collocations를 잘 사용하면 영어 표현을 좀더 자연스럽고 풍부하게 할 수 있습니다.

오늘은 그 중에 하나인 positively encourage 입니다. 왜 encourage 앞에 positively가 붙냐고요? 이유는 없습니다.

예문)
  • Hence the heavy promotion recently of the Mediterranean Diet, which positively encourages the consumption of these types of fat. (출처: USENET)
  • This was positively encouraged by the state, with Louis' mistress Madame de Pompadour supporting the city's intellectuals and prompting the king to construct striking new monuments. (출처: USENET)
