우리는 흔히 "호적에 잉크도 안말랐다.", "머리에 피도 안마른"이란 표현을 씁니다.
영어에서는 "귀 뒤가 젖어 있다."라는 표현을 쓰네요.

Collocations는 강조의 표현을 하기 위해서 같이 쓰는 단어들로써 이유는 없지만 누구나가 그렇게 쓰는 표현들입니다. collocations를 잘 사용하면 영어 표현을 좀더 자연스럽고 풍부하게 할 수 있습니다.

오늘은 그 중에 하나인 enthusiastically endorse 입니다. 왜 endorse 앞에 enthusiastically가 붙냐고요? 이유는 없습니다.

예문)
  • To Delacroix's horror, not only does Dunwitty enthusiastically endorse the show, it also becomes hugely successful. (출처: USENET)
  • Peckinpah completed the script, which Miss Porter enthusiastically endorsed. (출처: USENET)

I was walking home when I met Jessica
제시카를 만났을 때 나는 집에 가는 중이 었다.

과거의 어느 시점에 진행 중인 일을 표현 할 때 씁니다.

두 문장을 한번 비교해보죠.
 When Jessica arrive, we were having dinner When Jessica arrived, we had dinner 
 제시카가 도착하기 전에 이미 저녁 먹기를 시작한 겁니다.
즉, 동시에 일어난 일		  제시카가 도착한 후에 저녁을 먹기 시작한 겁니다.
즉, 순차적으로 일어난 일
